The Name
Like most family companies creating products for kids, we were inspired by our own children. So, naturally, in naming the brand, we wanted to include them. We mixed up parts of our kids’ first and middle names and came up with Svolta.

Out of due diligence, we had to make sure svolta didn’t translate to anything weird or offensive and found…

In Italian, svolta means a turn or a bend (in the road). Roman millennials have adopted the word and given it a new meaning — luck. Both interpretations work for us.

The Mission
We started by creating durable, style-centric scooters and skateboards for kids to encourage physical fitness.

As our communities continued to expand, we launched additional lifestyle collections centered around artistic endeavors, sports, and hobbies/interests that help keep us connected with other humans.

We dedicated a music-inspired collection to the musicians in the family– showcasing Rebel and Phoenix, our bunny mascots, playing with bandmates in the fictional band Save Carrots.

The Tennis Collection was co-designed with The Tennis Kids as a project to promote positivity and lighthearted humor on the tennis courts.

In a nutshell, our mission is to:

We are a DTC “Direct to Community” brand. We partner with organizations with a focus on inspiring creativity and promoting physical activity. We think of it as profit sharing with the local communities rather than paying out to big box retailers.

Let’s make everything in eye-catching, gender neutral color palettes! We make it simple to gift our products to anyone. Gender neutral designs also make our scooters and clothing easy to pass down or share, helping to reduce clutter, redundancy, and waste.

Much of our inspiration comes from mid century modern color palettes from fashion and interior design. Art, music, sports, and pop culture influences can be found throughout the designs in our apparel and lifestyle collections.

Thinking small.

We love small, independent businesses. Local toy retailers, unique general stores, baby and toddler specialty stores, and quirky bike repair shops are the types of community outlets where we like to see locals engage with Svolta products.

The Bolt
When we think ‘volta’ we think ‘energy.’ When we think ‘energy’ we think ‘lightning bolt.’ No, not as in e-scooters. Kids have enough natural energy– it would be a shame to let all that go to waste, don’t ya think? :)
